My name is Thomas Fowler, and I am the President of Penguin Air. When my partner, Shaun Dawson, and I sat down to write a personal flight planner, we discovered that obtaining current navigation information in an easy to use digital format was nearly impossible. We saw that the aviation community was lacking a single source for quick, easy access to commonly used flight information. With this fact, we set out to create products that would put the world of aviation information into the hands of all pilots for a minimal cost.

Penguin Air started with our electronic Airport Facility Directory which has been very well received by the VFR and flight sim communities. Our next product, FLY.F.R., is being directed to the IFR communities, both real steel and virtual. Together, we hope these products will provide cost effective alternatives to the navigation paper chase. Updated every 8 weeks, following the FAA's 56 day data cycle, we maintain the ability to use our data for navigation. Future editions will include enhancements such as a flight planner, Palm Pilot interaction, etc. Our goal is to continuously add new data and features to our product at the request of our fellow pilots.

As a future product we are also working on providing an Electronic Chart Service at a substantial discount. Our goal is to make it cheaper and easier to find the information you need when you need it.
